My Two Hats is written by Heidi Román, MD, FAAP

I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. I then moved to California and completed pediatric residency and chief residency at the Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland, CA. I practiced pediatrics in a diverse county clinic in San Jose, California for six years. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a pediatrician at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.

I am passionate about providing high quality primary care for children; and also enjoy teaching medical students and residents. I am interested in the use of new technologies to improve care and communication with patients and families. I live with my husband and son in Dallas, Texas.
